Establishment of a website with AA accessibility for the Haifa Association for the Blind. The site included accessibility to reading software, contrast and compliance with strict standards of the Israeli Accessibility Association. The project was developed in accordance with the client's needs with dynamic elements that can be edited using the DigitalCMS content management system that was implemented in the project using PHP.
Our strategy
In building the website for the Association for the Blind Haifa, we concentrated on creating a personalized user experience, which allows everyone to access information in an easy and accessible way. The site includes intuitive voice navigation, support for mobile devices, and a combination of interactive content such as voice maps and voice guides. Beyond technical accessibility, we emphasized transparency and accessibility of information about activities, donations and community support, so that visitors can be an active part of the association. The system allows employees to easily add dynamic content and manage the site without technical knowledge, while maintaining strict standards of security and accessibility, and turning the site into a meaningful tool for the community.
What we learned
From the project we learned to what extent accessibility is not just technology but an overall experience for the user. We realized that adherence to AA accessibility standards, support for reading software and adjustments for contrast requires advance planning, repeated tests and consideration of different needs of users with different disabilities. We learned that creating a dynamic system that can be edited by the association's staff requires a combination of administrative comfort and technological flexibility, while maintaining strict security standards. The project sharpened our ability to translate complex social requirements into advanced technological solutions, and to develop a website that serves the community in a meaningful and empowering way.

Our client, Association for the Blind Haifa, is a leading social organization working for the visually impaired community. The association provides support, training and diverse services aimed at empowering the users and allowing them to integrate into everyday life and society independently. The organization's activities require accessible, transparent and easy-to-use information solutions that allow users, volunteers and association staff to access information easily.
