As a seasoned website builder, who has lived in the field for over 15 years, I have seen dozens of design and programming trends that have flooded the market. In 2025, the rules of the game change a bit and new elements enter which will determine whether your website is innovative or just an outdated website.
From being a programmer (PHP) and a designer (Photoshop) I am amazed to discover the mistakes made by website owners who choose to work with technologies Website construction old over new technologies and sometimes even at the cost of damaging the branding of their business.
Take the classic example of planting a photo slideshow. In 2021, there is no place for an alternating photo presentation in FADE – There's simply no room for that on cutting-edge websites. These presentations were replaced by advanced animation carousels or, as detailed later in the article, video backgrounds, parallax backgrounds and a variety of innovative elements.

A new trend that we are aware of in recent years is "Video background". The video background is usually displayed instead of the traditional presentation that appears on the site's home page and can be used for a variety of topics; Starting with the presentation of the business, MOCKUP photos of products or 3D simulations. When it comes to video backgrounds the possibilities are endless.
For example: let's say you are a boutique hotel that wants to present its hotel through video. The video background on your website will be displayed on the home page and will include aerial shots around the hotel showing the building and will also include shots of the rooms at flattering angles and background shots of the facilities in the hotel – From the swimming pool to the movie theater, everything will be taken into account in the promotional video in order to present the surfer with the full experience from your hotel.

CSS/GIF animations
Another new part for the years 2020 is CSS animations which are a replacement for the old but notorious animation software "flash”. Since the invention of HTML5/CSS3, countless substitutes for web animations have been created which are both a perfect configuration for all types of devices and do not require the support of an external plug-in (for example Flash) in order to display them.
The CSS animations are embedded both in the presentations and in the elements along the way, thus creating an animation of the page in a dynamic way according to the screen size of the surfer or the resolution in which he is.
It can be seen that many website owners use 2 types of animations:
- GIF animations – Gif format is an image that is usually used to animate an element on the page such as a screenshot (as we did in this guide in the previous paragraphs) or to animate lightweight elements that will not burden the download time of the image by the surfer.
- CSS animations – Animations that are carried out in several types of elements, starting with moving the mouse over the element and changing colors, to changing different backgrounds automatically. CSS animations have taken over the entire field of website construction and completely replaced the traditional FLASH player.
